Getting Your First Valpo Plate
You can order your plate online via the Standard and Distinctive License Plates page on the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) site or by visiting your local BMV branch. Your plate will arrive in the mail within 21 days of placing the order. The fee will include both your $25 tax-deductible contribution to the Valparaiso University Alumni Association and the $15 BMV administrative fee.
Renewing Your Valpo Plate
When you receive your plate renewal notice from the BMV, simply pay the amount listed on the notice. The total amount on the renewal form will include both your $25 tax-deductible contribution to the Valparaiso University Alumni Association and the $15 BMV administrative fee. In addition to renewal by mail, you also can renew at your local license branch or online through the BMV's Standard and Distinctive License Plates page.
Check to Get Credit
When you get a Valpo license plate, $25 of your $40 special plate fee helps support the programs of the Valparaiso University Alumni Association. But we'll only know of your gift if you mark to allow the BMV to share your contact information with us (by checking the box under "Special Messages"). Once we are notified, we'll acknowledge your $25 gift with a thank you letter!
