Give Through Financial Assets

Tax-advantaged giving options using investments, retirement accounts, or charitable funds.

Donor-Advised Funds (DAFs)

Best for: Donors who already give through Fidelity, Schwab, or community foundation charitable funds.

A donor-advised fund (DAF) allows donors to make a charitable contribution, receive an immediate tax benefit, and recommend grants to charitable organizations over time.

How it works

  1. Make an irrevocable, tax-deductible contribution to a sponsoring public charity
  2. Recommend how donated assets are invested
  3. Recommend grants to qualified charities such as Valparaiso University

If you already have a donor-advised fund with Fidelity Charitable, Schwab Charitable, or a community foundation, please consider recommending a grant to Valpo.
